The Fowler hop [[Alpha_Acid|alpha acid]] [[utilization]] algorithm is the primary method for calculating [[IBU]] on the [http://www.beertools.com/ BeerTools.com] website. It uses a fourth order polynomial to produce a smooth [[Wort_Boil_Duration |boil time]]/[[utilization]] curve. The results produced by the algorithm are similar to those obtained with the [[Rager]] formula but with the addition of [[Original_Gravity|gravity]] and [[pellet]] hops correction factors.
